Window Pets

Meet "Checky," our newest window pet that showed up in one of our basement windows. David wants to get an aquarium and keep him. Cailin named him, but I have no idea how she came up with the name.
We also have one larger frog and three baby frogs in the same window with Checky. The large one likes to hang out at the window. Here they were just chillin' last night.

Pretty Bue Eyes!

I found this picture of Elijah that David took. I thought it was cute.

A view from the inside

So several people have asked for pictures of the inside of our house. Here are some pictures of the front half, pictures of the bedrooms will follow later when we get around to taking them. I still haven't put up pictures or decorations yet - it will look nicer when I do.

This is the living room. The entrance is to the left of the big window. Note the beautiful wood floor that David did an awesome job installing with the help of his brother Jason.
The kitchen/dining area. We need a new dining set that seats more than 4, since there are now 5 people in our family :-) The four doors are pantry, coat closet, back door, and garage.
The back of the living room/dining area. Down the hall are the three bedrooms and the bathroom. To the left behind the couch is the staircase to the basement.
The main (and kids') bathroom. Our bathrooms are tiny.
Where the living room and kitchen meet.
So there you go. I thought that having the living room/dining room/kitchen all in the same big room would be annoying, but I actually love it. It makes the house feel so open and inviting. Well that was a lot of detail, hope you enjoyed a semi-tour of our home!

Happy Birthday Elijah!

Elijah turned one on Saturday (July 5th)! I can't believe he is already a year old. Here are our kiddos the night before, waiting to go to fireworks:

Here's one of the girls helping me feed the bunnies before we left:On Sunday afternoon we had Jason, Jenny, Kari and Joe over for a barbecue, cake and ice cream. Elijah didn't quite understand the present thing yet, but here is one gift he held onto:

He held onto that $10 bill nice and tight. Then it was on to the cake. I have never tried decorating a cake before, and I ran out of white icing, so the cake didn't turn out as nice as I wanted it to:It is supposed to be a bath tub. Elijah didn't care that it got messed up a bit, he ate it anyway :-)

Happy birthday Elijah! Here's to another fun year watching you grow and learn new things.
