David's pet

David has a new pet that lives outside his office window (in the window well of our basement). Here he is:
I really like this picture that David took of him, and yes, he does have a rock on his head.

Today's surprise!

Bread (our bunny) has been really aggressive lately. I was getting worried that we may have to get rid of her, but today when I went to feed her I found an explanation for the aggression:

That's right, four baby bunnies (or at least four wrinkly black hairless things that turn into baby bunnies). The girl that we got Bread from said that she had a boy bunny, but she was told by his previous owner that he was neutered. I had to email her today and let her know that she was misinformed. Anyone want a pet bunny in about 8 weeks? :-)

Happy Birthday to Me! and Other Fun Pictures

My birthday was last week. Here are some pictures:
Like Elijah's black eye? Poor war wound from trying to stand up against everything.

More fun pictures.

Go guitar hero! Cailin rocking out with Uncle Jason, Cailin rocking out alone, and Katie rocking out (or maybe falling down???)

Fun in the sand box. You should have seen the bottom of the tub after their bath:

The Storm!

Last Thursday several tornadoes hit Colorado, and we were less than three miles from one of them. Fortunately the only damage we had was damage to our cars and maybe our roof. Kari (David's sister) is living with us for a while until she gets settled down in Denver, and her car got the biggest owies. Here are some pictures from the storm.

The hail:
The Damage to our poor cars: Windsor got hit with the worst tornado. I had to drive through there yesterday to go get my car looked at at the insurance company, and it was unbelievable. I felt like I was on a movie set. I might post some pictures here later - Jason and David took some when they were helping clean up in Windsor this weekend. One family in our ward and three families from the ward we share a building with all lost their homes.

Bath Time and Baby Dolls

I'm going to be sad when the kids are too big to all play in the tub at the same time.
I didn't take a picture of when the bath was over. Here the kids are still fairly dry. When the bath is over the kids have usually successfully soaked themselves, the bathroom, and me!

Anyone who knew me as a kid also knew Ashley, my doll that never left my side. For Christmas last year my mom got each of the girls their own "Ashley" doll (exact same kind of doll as mine). Just recently Katie has started playing with her doll a lot. She takes her "baby" around the house in a stroller, buckles her up in Elijah's car seat, and changes her diaper.

Our Little Man

Elijah gets so excited when he sees you open the dishwasher. He loves to crawl over and dig though the silverware basket. Poor Daddy was having a hard time keeping the dishes in the dishwasher because Elijah kept pulling them out.
Our little Rockies fan. We haven't taken Elijah to a game yet, but we need to. The girls went to their first Rockies game when they were only 4 or 5 months old.

Best Friends

Cailin and Katie are so fun to watch together. Twins are a lot of work, but so much fun, too. I can get frustrated with them sometimes now that they are old enough to argue (and blame each other for getting in trouble), but seeing them have fun together makes all the difficult times worth it. Here is a picture of my little "best friends" I took yesterday.

They can be so sweet, too. The last couple of nights after we are finished eating dinner, both of the girls will say "Thanks Mom for the good supper." It doesn't sound like something that exciting, but I am sure all you moms can relate to how much a simple "thanks" from your kids can brighten your mood.

Our New Pet

We got a new pet a few days ago. Here is a picture of her with Elijah:
She's a pretty cool rabbit. David and I decided to let the girls name the bunny, and Cailin was pretty insistent that we choose the name she came up with. So, I'd like to introduce you to our bunny, "Bread." I guess that's the price you pay when you ask a three year old to name a pet while she is eating a sandwich.

We'd also like to wish Grandma Alder and Grandma Cochran a Happy Mother's Day! (if either of you two ever read this any more). We love you!

I need some FOOD!

Poor Elijah likes food a little too much. When we were packing up the apartment David boxed up all the frozen food. Elijah crawled over to it, but was NOT happy when he couldn't get any food out of the containers.

Baby Morgan

Last weekend the kids and I went home to Grand Junction to see my new niece, Morgan. She was born on Monday.

Katie was holding her baby up so that it could see baby Morgan through the window to the nursery. That's my brother Adam holding Elijah in the background.Proud big brothers Logan and Parker with their new baby sister.Look at all that cute hair!

Congrats Amanda and Aaron, she's beautiful! I can't wait to visit again.

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Yesterday was David's birthday. Here are some pictures of how we celebrated.

Elijah's birthday present to Dad - he unrolled the toilet paper so Daddy didn't have to :-)

Daddy playing with his birthday present. Next we went down in the basement so David could play with his birthday present. The girls liked dancing to Daddy's music.

My wonderful family. The girls had a fun time putting the candles in David's cake, then they told us that we needed to "put the fire on the candles so Daddy can blow on them."
